There are many different reasons for practicing yoga. Maybe you’d like to become more flexible, enhance your physical endurance, or simply improve your overall health. Perhaps you injured yourself and would like to get back to your full range of motion and strength. You may feel stressed and would like to use movement to find stillness in your mind. Or you’d like to create a deeper self-awareness and use your body to go inside.
Whatever your reason is, I’d be happy to guide you along the way to a healthier, happier and calmer self. Anyone who can breath can practice yoga. Read here how I found yoga and why I practice it.

Private Yoga in Manasquan, NJ
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced yogi, private yoga sessions are the optimal way to establish a solid relationship with your own body and breath. I work with clients who need to build strength and flexibility after an injury, corporate executives who want to learn practical ways to counter-act stress and the detriments of a seated (office) life, advanced yogis who wish to fine-tune the alignment of their postures, those who need to learn how to breathe properly, and anyone else who is interested in the benefits of a custom-made practice.
During a private session I generally use one – or a combination – of the following methods:
- Yin Yoga
- Gentle movement
- Alignment based vinyasa flow yoga
- Trauma-sensitive yoga
- Pranayama (yogic breath work)
- Mindfulness practices

Join me for live online classes from the comfort of your own home, office, hotel room, or wherever you are.
I offer all classes through Zoom. A high-quality recording of the classes will be available on my YouTube channel for those who cannot attend the live class and who registered and paid for the class.
Here is how it works:
- You can sign up per type of class (Yang, Yin or Yin Yang);
- The fee is USD 10 per class (and less if you book multiple classes);
- Register through the links below, where you will be able to select the dates of the available class(es) you’d like to join;
- You can pay through Venmo (@Marije-Paternotte), credit card or PayPal. Please pay before you take the class. Email me for other payment options.

Insight Yoga: Yin
Thursdays 8:00 – 9:00 am EST / 14:00 – 15:00 CET
This is a Yin Yoga practice of longheld floor poses to increase mobility, enhance the Chi flow in your body, and calm your mind.
Use of essential oils is optional.
Insight Yoga: Yin Yang
Saturdays 9:00 – 10:00 am EST / 15:00 – 16:00 CET
In this practice you will be alternating movement and stillness to find balance. Experiencing the quiet in your moving and an awareness of dynamic aliveness while being still will give you a different perspective on life, and allows for a state of energized relaxation.
On-demand classes, workshops, courses and trainings
You may like to practice with me, but you live in a different town, state or country. Perhaps you just like to roll onto your mat straight out of bed. Or do a practice in your pajamas right before you go to bed. Wherever you are, and whenever you feel like it, you can practice with me. The only thing you need is an internet connection!
